WIP MG RX-78 3.0

For my next project I picked this up from Crunchyroll. They had it on daily deal and I couldn't exactly pass up the chance to have the RG RX-78-2 in 1/100. Plus, everyone should have the Gundam in a 1/100 MG form. I decided to experiment with panel lining on the runner with this kit because why not. Once the panel lining was complete, the build started like any other...

Unbox completed.

Construction started with the upper torso, including the shoulder joints.

The vents up front, specifically left vents.

Vent assembly. They move up and down together. No evil foil stickers like on the RG.

Both vent assemblies.

Attached to the main torso

Side armor added

Front armor

Armpit armor. Note the lilac. That's how you know its the 3.0

The parts that make up the cockpit hatch

And hatch added.

Beginning on the backpack, with micro thrusters.

Then the main thrusters with a cool clear piece on each one.

Closing the backpack

Completed backpack Note the hardpoint

Inner neck assembly with light piping.

Neck armoff.

Neck armorn

Completed upper torso
At this point, I decided to call it a night. Lots of tiny pieces. Like the infuriating light red ones on the sides of the lower torso.
