WIP: GX-9900

Started work on a new OOB build while I wait for paint and glue to dry on the unnamed kitbash. The OOB build I started is the MG Gundam X. Should be a relatively straightforward kit after a quick glance over the instructions. As usual, construction starts with the cockpit and chest.

RG GAT-X105 - Perfect Strike Gundam

 

WIP 5: RG GAT-X105 - Strike Gundam

Like most RG kits, construction of the Gundam begins with the feet. The Aile is no different. There's a small thruster mounted to the bottom of the foot before you start putting on the armor.

WIP 4: RG GAT-X105 - Aile Striker Pack

The Launcher Striker pack was completed and I moved onto the Aile Strike pack. All the pieces for the Aile. Two reds, one yellow, and two grays, plus some white. Because of how Bandai laid out the plates, its feasable they could sell it separately. Not that they ever would.

WIP 3: RG GAT-X105 - Launcher Striker Pack

When we last left off, I had just completed the Sword Striker pack for the Perfect Strike. Once it was completed, I moved onto the Launcher Striker pack. I wanted to find a way to mount the massive cannon to the Aile pack to provide some additional support using the arm.

WIP 2: RG GAT-X105 - Sword Striker Pack

After finishing the Skygrasper proper, I moved onto the Sword Striker Pack and content for GoodGuy Dan's contest. I started by trimming and cleaning almost all of the parts (including the dark blue seen above) before beginning assembly.

Unlike with the Skygrasper, I'll be using an enamel wash on the Striker Packs and the Strike itself. It gives better results overall, even if it is a little more time consuming.

WIP: RG GAT-X105

Time to get started on the RG Perfect Strike Gundam that I'm building for the GoodGuyCompetition being run by GoodGuy Dan. I decided to start by building the weapons and the Skygrasper, even though the Skygrasper isn't even being entered. The plan is to panel line, sticker with the awesome RG stickers and top coat. Then some pictures.

I'm really only building the Skygrasper so I have somewhere to put the weapons as I build them.

Entered a Contest

GoodGuy Dan is running the 2014 Good GuyCompetition and I'm finally confident enough in my skills to participate. I'll be building an RG Perfect Strike. Partly to clear out my backlog, and partly because the HG Perfect Strike was an absolutely terrible kit and doesn't deserve a place on my shelf.

This will be a straight build, just panel lines, stickers (RG stickers are awesome) and top coat. Look for build blog coming soon.

RX-0 Full Armor

Finished my HG Unicorn gundam, Unicorn mode Full Armor. Wow, that is an awkward name. Its just panel lined (in green and gray) and top coated. Nothing fancy. Still need to panel line the Destroy Mode version (regular, not full armor) and make the Banshee Norn (unicorn mode) that's in my backlog.
